Walking in Light

Walking in Light aims to take the reader into their inner realms where they can learn how to live a shamanic way of life and in this it succeeds admirably.

In contemporary society from a young age we are told “not to shine our light too brightly, not to stand out and not to dream too big”. However we can all walk in light, we can all shine our light and be involved in “dreaming positive change into manifest form”[1]. Walking in Light teaches how everyone can access the hidden realms, meet allies and use the invisible and visible shamanic community to support us on every step of our journey, using our intentions to shape our world, dream the life we desire into being and share the light within.

As the author states, shamanism is a practise of direct revelation and in contemporary Western society we tend to focus on methods. With this in mind Walking in Light provides a highly useful, flexible guide to living in a shamanic way; containing a wide range of ideas, exercises, techniques and journey guidance together with examples from the author’s personal and professional practice to empower the reader to experience their own revelations. At the end of the book there is also an extensive list for further reading followed by a useful list of resources.

Author Sandra Ingerman’s books are renowned for providing accessible, interesting information and Walking in Light is no exception, being one of those books that as I read for review I found myself taking frequent notes on things that resonated with me and were far too good not to share. Unfortunately I also ended up with far too much to share, therefore highly recommend buying the book. Walking in Light is a definite asset for everyone wishing to experience the joy of living a shamanic life.
